Debugging technical error 60101
While load testing a new application (processing approx. 40 messages per second), we occasionally get a 60101 technical error:Technical error (code 60101).Contact your system administrator. No additional info is provided, and due to the large volume of messages being processed, profiling the rules service is not really an option.Does anyone have any suggestions about finding the root cause of this error?FYI: running USoft 10.0.1J with SQL Server 2019.
Implementing callbacks in the Service Definer
Anyone know how to implement callbacks in the Service Definer? We are using a Kafka producer in the Service Framework, which uses asynchronous calls and a callback interface to handle events (see Callback (kafka 2.6.0 API) (apache.org)).I have tried using Lambda expressions, but it seems those are not supported in the Service Definer.
Custom rules service logging
We are creating custom logs in some of our rules services.Currently, that is done using the StreamWriter class in a C# component, which can cause problems if multiple engines are trying to write to the same log file at the same time.Anyone have any recommendations for a logging framework which we can use in a rules service?
How to create an "application modal" dialog?
I have a dialog with property “modal” set to “yes” in “Window (Definition Shell)”.It's opened via a button action from a MDI Child window.Modal property seems to only set the window to be in “parent modal” state, but I still can interact with all the controls outside the window that the dialog was opened from. How do I set it to an “application modal”, so the whole application is blocked?
Server secrets in config.xml using environment variables
Hello, We started setting up the service definer servers in containers. We want to use a Key Vault to store the passwords, and the CICD pipeline will send the required passwords to the container as Linux environment variables. Therefore, we want to replace some properties of the server config.xml with the value of the Linux environment variables when the container is started. One option is to create a bash script to replace the properties with the environment variables before the server starts, but do you know an easier way to use those environment variables in the server configuration? Many thanks,Albert
Web Designer Cannot drag GridControl
Hi,In the Web Designer in USoft 10.0.1G I try do drag a GridControl from the Controls tree onto a Page element. However, the forbidden sign is shown blocking the drag operation. What should be the correct way to add the GridControl? By the way, the same applies to the GridEditControl and the TabularGridControl.Note, I finally managed to use a work-around, that is go to a predefined Info Page and copy + paste a GroupControl containing a GridControl.Thank youy
Which database versions are supported
Is there a general and up-to-date overview on which database versions are supported by which USoft versions (a matrix would be nice). I can find the support for Oracle and SQL server, but not for Postgres (or others) and I don’t see the Oracle version 21c (2020/21) (if applicable). Thanks! Jan.
How to use values in a xml as a list in a sql statement
I have a relative simple xml as input<annotations> <annotation on_class="CustomREST" name="AuthSaml" method="entity" value=""/> <annotation on_class="CustomREST" name="AuthSaml" method="value" value="a"/> <annotation on_class="DefaultJobREST" name="AuthSaml" method="entity" value=""/> <annotation on_class="DefaultJobREST" name="AuthSaml" method="value" value="b"/></annotations>I want to use the values from the annotation where the method equals value. Interfacing Inbound and Outbound flows to an Oracle database.
We need to interface sales orders, inventory, purchase orders from a USOFT application to an Oracle Database. It looks like we can do this development using the USOft query model? Please ignore above. Our issue is importing the planned oorders from Oracle ASCP.
UBlendIt strings:ReplaceVariables and escaped characters
During deployments, we use UBlendIt’s strings:ReplaceVariables function to replace placeholders with values specified in the UDeliver registry. If the placeholder values contains an escaped XML character (such as &):<Data name="$[ADV.API_REF_DATA_CONTRACT_URL]" value="https://localhost:8221/reference-data/v1/customer/contract?cas-code=$[CAS_CODE]&program=$[PROGRAM]&validation-date=$[VALIDATION_DATE]"strings:ReplaceVariables throws an error:<Error>Call to strings:ReplaceVariables5(--unknown function signature--) with 5 args: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.'=' is an unexpected token. The expected token is ';'. Line 7, position 152.</Error>Anyone have any suggestions on how to work around this? Thanks!

Check if you have the right annotation name or use the fully qualified name.- Annotation 'javax.ws.rs.container.Priority' could not be resolved. In USoft 9.1, when working with modules and trying to update or populate tables of the main application via the authorizer, an 'Invalid object name' RDBMS error is shown, why?
The error could be a result of USoft not being able to locate the module flat files. If modules are used as part of your application, then you need to make sure that the conceptual flat file (.con) of the module is locatable. More detailed information about how exactly USoft attempts to find application flatfiles is now available at: A quick test to see if the module flat file cannot be located is to put the module flat files in the APP directory of the USoft installation and try to populate/update the tables again via the Authorizer of the main application. If this resolves the error, then this means the flat files cannot be found in the fileSearchPath or HomeDir as indicated in the above documentation. Note that in USoft 10 Authorizer, the update/populate buttons are replaced with a single button Fill Authorizer Tables. The Update option is still accessible via the Authorizer "Tools" menu. If module flat files are missing, then this will also be indicated when trying to Fill the auth

We are experiencing degraded database performance possibly related to the network traffic involved.
We are experiencing degraded database performance possibly related to the network traffic involved, are there settings in USoft we can use to increase our performance in this case? The *optimizationArea parameter may be useful. You can add this parameter as a command line parameter using the -xrm option or by adding the parameter via the USDIW file. More information about RDBMS performance is found in the documentation under RDBMS Performance hints :

Since the upgrade we have a problem to start the USoft binder.
Since the upgrade we have a problem to start the USoft binder and the following error message is shown: The code execution cannot proceed because mfc140u.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. Could it be that there is a problem with the registry? The mfc140u.dll is part of the Microsoft Visual c++ 2015 redistributable. Normally it is installed along with a USoft installation. The redistributable vcredist_x86.exe / vcredist_x64.exe setup file you can also find seperately in the redist/Microsoft/ folder. For 32 bit versions of USoft , the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory is used to locate mfc140u.dll.For 64 bit versions of USoft , the C:\Windows\System32 directory is used to locate mfc140u.dll.If for some reason is missing, you may need to reinstall the Microsoft visual c++ redistributable by launching the above setup file or reinstall USoft. You can also find the currently installed Microsoft Visual C++ via the "Apps and features" configuration page of Window
How do I upgrade between USoft versions?
Patch updates can be upgraded simply by downloading and installing the new version. Upgrading a USoft application to any other major version involves a sequential upgrade of the repository, for example going from 8.0 to 10.0: • USoft 9.0 : 8.0 -> 9.0 Upgrading to USoft 9• USoft 9.1 : 8.0 -> 9.0 -> 9.1 Upgrading to USoft 9.1• USoft 10 : 8.0 -> 9.0 -> 9.1 -> 10 and The upgrade process itself is equivalent along all versions, so you can upgrade your existing application using the same process of using the upgrade tool. We recommend going through the upgrade guidelines before and after upgrading about which more information is found in the above links.Notes:USoft 9 uses .NET Framework 4.5, where USoft 8 uses .NET Framework 3.5NET 4.5 is available starting from Windows Server 2008.Regarding license server software: Usoft 8 uses FlexLM
