Export SFW server metadata (XML) in UDeliver?

Anyone know if there is a way to export the XML of a Service Framework server in UDeliver? Similar to the way you can export the XML of the Definer with the ‘Export metadata’ action?It would be nice to have a snapshot of the SFW servers as they were at the time of creating the release, so you can restore or inspect that if needed. I suppose yo u could export the relevant tables using an XML.Export(), but I don’t see an easier way.

Updating interface components

We are using interface components (RDMI) in USoft 10.1.1D.If a new method is added to a component, it is sometimes necessary to toggle the ‘Interface’ checkbox so the new method shows up in the provided interface object (in the consumer, but also in the provider itself). And yes 😉, I did do a ‘Check’ of the component in the provider to generate the new methods and parameters.Is this a known bug?

Execute UDeliver rules service script in UBelndIt

I’m trying to run a database script, which is created in UDeliver, using UBlendIt.The upgrade script in UDeliver contains multiple SQL statements, so the resulting URE script looks something like:INSERT INTO ….;UPDATE …;UBlendIt has the pc:SqlStatement directive, but that requires child elements which are not created by UDeliver. And the sql:SqlStmnt function only accepts a single SQL statement, not a script containing multiple statements.Short of creating separate upgrade scripts, each with one SQL statement, anyone know of a way to run the multiple-statement script generated by UDeliver?

xsl:strip-space in XSL Stylesheet component

Using xsl:strip-space in an XSL Stylesheet component (USoft 10.1.1B) results in this error:White space cannot be stripped from input documents that have already been loaded. Provide the input document as an XmlReader instead. Anyone know an easy way to work around this? Thanks!

Delete from SQL Server without UPDLOCK

Hiya,We use a scheduled clean-up task to delete data from a SQL Server 2019 table when it has become obsolete. During high loads, we regularly run into time-outs in a second process which is attempting to insert data into the same table.In the SQL Profiler screenshot below, you can see clean-up process 73 performing a ‘SELECT FOR DELETE’ statement. That uses the UPDLOCK hint, which result in a lock escalation on (a page beneath) the IN_ICM_EVENT table .Process 69 (which is actually a second rules service) attempts to do an insert into that same table, but times out after 10 seconds due to the lock held by the clean-up.We know the data being deleted is not going to be updated (or even selected) by any other process, so we don’t need the lock held by the clean-up process.Does anyone know if there is any way to force the rules engine to forego that lock?

We occasionally have locking issues with our SQL Server 2019 database from a USoft 10.0.1 rules service.When the load on the system is high, this error occurs sometimes:HResult of 0x80004005 (-2147467259) returnedError Source: Microsoft OLE DB Driver 19 for SQL ServerError Description: Connection is busy with results for another commandMost suggestions seem to centre on using multiple database connection or using MARS.Does anyone know if either of these are supported by U10.0 (or U10.1)?

Upgrade from 10.0.1 to 10.1.1

Can we upgrade the USoft ‘runtime’ on our application servers from 10.0.1 to 10.1.1 without having to redeploy the existing applications (which were created in 10.0.1)? Or will that cause problems?

Debugging technical error 60101

While load testing a new application (processing approx. 40 messages per second), we occasionally get a 60101 technical error:Technical error (code 60101).Contact your system administrator.No additional info is provided, and due to the large volume of messages being processed, profiling the rules service is not really an option.Does anyone have any suggestions about finding the root cause of this error?FYI: running USoft 10.0.1J with SQL Server 2019.

Implementing callbacks in the Service Definer

Anyone know how to implement callbacks in the Service Definer?We are using a Kafka producer in the Service Framework, which uses asynchronous calls and a callback interface to handle events (see Callback (kafka 2.6.0 API) (apache.org)).I have tried using Lambda expressions, but it seems those are not supported in the Service Definer.

Custom rules service logging

We are creating custom logs in some of our rules services.Currently, that is done using the StreamWriter class in a C# component, which can cause problems if multiple engines are trying to write to the same log file at the same time.Anyone have any recommendations for a logging framework which we can use in a rules service?

SQL Server lock on T_EVENT

I have a batch job which needs to run as soon as the rules service starts. Create a text file containing the release number in UDeliver

I’m sure there’s an easy way to do this, but am not quite sure how 😐…I would like to create a text file in UDeliver which contains the release number of the release. So far, I added an attachment to the release, and was hoping to use the “Mark up text file” action to insert the release number into that, but I think that action only inserts the placeholder itself, not the value of placeholder.Anyone have any good tips? Thanks!

UBlendIt strings:ReplaceVariables and escaped characters

During deployments, we use UBlendIt’s strings:ReplaceVariables function to replace placeholders with values specified in the UDeliver registry.If the placeholder values contains an escaped XML character (such as &):<Data name="$[ADV.API_REF_DATA_CONTRACT_URL]" value="https://localhost:8221/reference-data/v1/customer/contract?cas-code=$[CAS_CODE]&amp;program=$[PROGRAM]&amp;validation-date=$[VALIDATION_DATE]"strings:ReplaceVariables throws an error:<Error>Call to strings:ReplaceVariables5(--unknown function signature--) with 5 args: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.'=' is an unexpected token. In UDeliver 10.0, all actions still have version 9.1 (both in an upgraded repo and in a ‘fresh’ U10.0 repo). Is that intentional?

USoft 10 Authorizer roles documentation

Is there any documentation about the new roles in the USoft 10 Authorizer?I’m trying to authorise developers for the Definer, with TeamWork permissions. Role USD_DEVELOPER (“Developer and TeamWork for Developers”) would seem the obvious choice, but then I still get this error: No or limited SELECT rights on table "T_BUSINESS_PROCESS_STEP"when accessing business processes.Adding those users to the USD_TWRK role also doesn’t fix the problem. Adding them to the USD_REP_OWNER does, but that seems a little extreme...P.S. The same questions arises when configuring UDELIVER and USTESTER and...

User XXX not registered for application USAUTH after upgrade to USoft 10

Hiya,After upgrading a USoft 9.1 (9.1.1J) application to USoft 10.0 (10.0.1A), I get this error when starting the Authorizer:User "XXX" not registered for application "USAUTH".where XXX is the owner of the database objects.The upgrade seems to have succeeded, despite some “MSOLEDBSQL driver not found, fallback to SQLNCLI11” warnings, and the data in the database appears correct.Starting any other item in the same project predictably results in a similar error.Anyone have any idea what the issue might be?Thanks!
